Naming and arranging Gradepoints in Connect Data for Monitoring

Before adding monitoring points, it is worth thinking about your naming convention for the year and what your staff users will see when they are in Connect Interactive.

Currently, when a user logs into Connect Interactive the most recent Gradepoint that has been added will be the default grade set. This populates the right hand set of columns and will either be your latest set of Exam results or the most recent monitoring data that has been added.

12 characters will be displayed in the blue icon and while you can call each monitoring point whatever you wish, from experience it is helpful to staff to have consistent naming convention.

For example, 21Y10NovPred refers to the Year 10 cohort for 2020/21 November's data point - the first for this year group. It is easy to then separate this from 20.Y9 June – which is the same cohort of students but in last summer’s monitoring point. 

The default order of the grade points is the chronological order that they are added, however if you have permissions to manage the Gradepoints in Connect Data you can change this order – this will then apply to all users in Connect Interactive.

This will change the order in which the Gradepoints appear in the Gradepoint selector, however the Gradepoint selector will also auto-fill relevant Gradepoints, based upon the Year Groups within the Gradepoint.
